AC70 Course Computer (000-10186-001)

The Simrad AC70 Course Computer (000-10186-001) is the central steering “brain” for your marine autopilot system. Engineered for reliability and high performance, this course computer integrates seamlessly with Simrad AP70 systems and can control both reversible motor and solenoid-driven rudder systems. With built-in interfaces for data communication and remote control, the AC70 is ideal for vessels over 40 feet that demand precision and durability on the water.

  • Controls rudder using either reversible motor or non-isolated solenoids
  • Accepts rudder angle feedback via frequency input to refine steering precision
  • NMEA 0183 and IEC 61162-1/-2 (TX/RX) connectivity for integration with other navigation systems
  • Drive Engage output for clutch, bypass valve, or automode oil valve signals
  • Alarm output to signal fault conditions or alerts
  • Compatible with NFU (No Fuel Use) remote control for simplified user interaction
  • Designed for vessels over 40 ft and capable of delivering 30 A to 50 A motor current depending on load and rudder hardware 
  • Dual voltage input supporting 12 V and 24 V systems 
  • Supports Micro-C (CAN bus backbone), SimNet drop cables, and proper cable terminations per the installation guide
  • Durable electronics enclosure suitable for marine environments, with robust protection from vibration and corrosion

A comprehensive range of computers and interface units are offered with the Simrad AP70 and AP80 autopilots providing a complete solution for every steering system.

Drive computer for rudder using reversible motor or non-isolated solenoids and frequency rudder angle feedback. Connection for NFU remote control and one channel IEC 61162-1 (NMEA 0183) RX/TX or IEC 61162-1, 2 and 3 compatible.
